Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Do you need something fun to do for the whole family? How about Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends? You may be thinking: “I thought that was too scary for my young kids?” Guess what? Cedar Point HalloWeekends has a kid-friendly daytime portion! The kiddos can have fun with the Peanuts gang, go trick or treating, and more! But, you guessed it! Come nighttime, the monsters come out!
During the day, we enjoyed seeing BIG spiders like the one above, life-like monsters including Michael Jackson (see below), and all the rides Cedar Point has to offer. I did purchase Fast Lane passes again. Well worth it! Instead of spending 2 hours in line, you spend 15-20 minutes. You can see my full review on all the rides, entertainment, and food Cedar Point has to offer HERE. If you are a big scaredy-cat like I am, this experience will be an interesting one!
Any Ohio State fans? O-H
Starting in the evening, HalloWeekends offers some awesome shows including CP’s Skeleton Crew! During the shows, they have performers who use fire, steel, and trampolines! Around 8pm, the monsters are released! All the insane, psycho clowns and monsters meet at one spot with their leader who gives them instructions. They agree to scare YOU then go to their hiding places! Check out a couple of clips from the shows:
Like I said, I’m a big weenie! So, needless to say, the 3 teenagers I was with, laughed at me a lot. Walking through a DARK Frontier Land, you can’t see a thing except smoke then BAM! There is a monster right in front of you! Scream much? I did! I was like a little girl. I had a hold of one of my daughter’s friends. Ok, stop laughing at me!
This is the view as we were leaving Frontier Land and the scary monsters!
Meet Mr. Giggles! His scare of choice is his trash can. He has great leaping abilities! He can hop on top of the trash can in one jump. Guess what other interesting tidbit there is? He is one of my daughter’s teachers! Really! How would you feel if he was your child’s teacher? After leaving monsterville, we headed over and jumped on The Maverick. After Maverick was over, it was getting closer to closing time. The kids wanted to go on Millennium Force. This required us to walk back through Frontier Land unless we wanted to walk around a huge circle to bypass it. Of course the kids wanted to go through the monsters again. Mom, not so much! I had to buckle up and take them on like a Mom! Ha! I grab a hold of my daughter’s friend again and head into the darkness. She decides to start saying ‘Hi’ to all the monsters. It seems if you talk to them, they will leave you alone. Until you run into one! She is walking along….”Hi Hi Hi.’ This monster turns back and screams ‘HI” in a deep scary voice while staring at her. I thought she was going to pee her pants! We were all laughing so hard! In case you were wondering, we made it back safely.
Along with scary mosters, Cedar Point HalloWeekends also offers haunted houses and scare zones. While my daughter and her friend rode Top Thrill Dragster, I sat with her other friend since she didn’t want to ride it. We sat right across from one of the Scare Zones, Blood on the Bayou. It was fun watching because there was a monster at the entrance that no one seemed to notice. He was standing by a trash can. They noticed once he would reach his hand out and try to grab them! You would hear people scream every so often! My daughter ended up going through Blood on the Bayou. Not me!
HalloWeekends run from Sept 14 – Oct 28 this year. If you aren’t able to make it, make sure to head there next Halloween!
I received HalloWeekend Tickets in exchange for a review. No other compensation was received
